Aryna Sabalenka

Sabalenka is a native of Minsk, the capital of Belarus. Her father Sergey (d. 2019.) was an Ice hockey player. Aryna Sabalenka was born in Minsk on May 5, 1998. She holds 12 WTA titles throughout her career. This includes the Grand Slam of 2023 Australian Open. As a specialist of doubles she has also won at the US Open of 2019 as well as her first Australian Open of 2021 with Elise Mertens. Alongside the Belgian tennis player, she won WTA 1000s in Indian Wells in 2019 and Miami. Women's doubles only had four couples win this title. On 23 August 2021 she rose to second position in the world singles ranking her best ranking reached again in the month of January in 2023. Following her victory at the Melbourne doubles tournament in February 2021 and gaining the doubles title, she managed rise up the rankings to be the number one player in that specialty. Dmitry Tursunov (a former Russian tennis player) was her coach for a portion of the season in 2019 as well as from the year 2018 until closing. Dieter Kindlmann was her trainer from the month of August until September 2020. Antonio Dubrov is her coach, and has been since at the beginning of 2020. Serena Williams, and Maria Sharapova are her idols.
